Charity speed-running event Summer Games Done Quick has raised a record $2.1 million for charity.
The event, which took place over the course of a week in Bloomington, Minnesota, saw 153 speed-runs of games completed for charity – and the money it raised will go to Doctors Without Borders, a charity which provides emergency healthcare around the world.
Games Done Quick events have taken place several times a year since 2011; the organization’s flagship event is Awesome Games Done Quick, and this year’s iteration, in January, raised a record $2.25 million for charity. Which renders the record-breaking nature of Summer Games Done Quick an even greater achievement.
