Buy A Star
Not really anything to do with celebrities but a star is a star!

If you are at all like me, than you are probably wondering what the deal .....
Ever since the invention of Hollywood as the movie capital of the world, we have all had a fascination for Hollywood Stars. They are the Royal Family of America. For some fans, the fascination becomes an obsession. Their homes become shrines to their favorite Hollywood star. Their vacations are all pilgrimages to get as close as possible to the Hollywood stars.

Hollywood does everything it can to encourage the fascination with Hollywood stars, both the new and the old. Even the dead do not get to rest in peace, but are under constant scrutiny. The explosion of the Internet fosters this interest with information on how to track down a star, or at least some memorabilia concerning the star. You can learn where they live, go shopping, which night clubs they frequent, where they went to school, where they go to church, where they dine and where they are buried!

One of the major tourist spots for fans of the Hollywood stars is the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre sidewalk, where stars have been immortalized by their handprints and footprints in the cement. They know they are a legend when they get the invitation. Some Hollywood stars have imprinted their personality by leaving a trademark, such as the imprint of Groucho Marx's cigar and John Wayne's fist.

Of course, there are tours of the homes belonging to Hollywood stars, and some specialize in the scenes of celebrity scandals and deaths. You can view the house where Marilyn Monroe died, where Sharon Tate was murdered, and where O.J.Simpson was arrested.

There are plenty of graves of Hollywood stars to visit. There is detailed information on where to find such luminaries as Jimmy Stewart, Lucille Ball, Spencer Tracy or Gregory Peck. If you can't manage to snare a real Hollywood star and you don't want to see a grave, there are Hollywood wax museums. Veterans such as Clint Eastwood rub shoulders with new additions like Spider-Man.

There is a particular interest in the Hollywood Stars of the 1940's, 50's and early 60's. Perhaps this is because these decades hark back to a simpler time, a more romanticized time when the stars were truly treated like royalty. The Hollywood stars were part of the studio system, contracted to the studios and protected by them. Despite their watchful care, scandal would break out sometimes, which only makes us more intrigued by them today. This was the time when the good guys wore white hats and the bad guys wore black hats. The leading man stood up when the leading lady entered the room. It was fashionable for ladies to wear a hat and cigarette holders were the height of sophistication. It was another world.
