Matthew and Ben sat down with Good Celebrity founder Alex Ribble to talk about their campaign and why it’s so important.
“Since our accounts are public and not private, people can see what we’re doing during the day and they’ll comment on stuff that they might not like on our page,” said Matthew.
Disney’s Choose Kindness campaign encourages kids to fight bullying by first, telling someone if they’re a victim. The first step is to make someone that can help aware of the situation.
“It helps kid everywhere. And kids who are bullies learn not to bully and to fight bullying,” said Matthew.
The sad thing about bullying, especially online, is that it’s not just kids sharing mean words, it’s also adults.
“What we’ve realized is mostly people who cyberbully are adults and that’s an awful thing because why should an adult have to cyberbully a kid,” said Ben.
Matthew and Ben hope that they can reduce bullying by sharing their message. They said that they’re already seeing their fans share the hashtag, #ChooseKindness when bullying occurs on their personal accounts.
